    Superb

We stayed in the main biulding in room Ross and it was fantastic - spacious, bright with a great view. The food was excellent. This i great value for money for a castel experience.

    Superb

Nice hotel, not very expensive for the good quality of the services and rooms that are provided. Very good breakfast (and dinner, too) served in an elegant room. Good position for starting a tour towards the highlands or southward towards Inverness area. For a romantic stay, it's simply... Perfect!

Really, nothing is bad. Just if the young employees of the staff could be a bit less formal and more friendly it would be even better.

Very central area for visiting northeast of Scotland. Fall of Shin and Dunrobin Castle very worth while a visit. Black Isle worth visiting as well.Booked two nights but loved the area so much stayed a third night. Food very well presented and aplenty in Hotel. The staff were very friendly and informative about the area and also the array of Scotch stocked in the Hotel Bar. We have to little dogs who were made very welcome by the staff and even had a treat each morning from the waitress/chef. Cant praise the Hotel and area enough.

    Absolutely nothing. Hotel was fantastic.

    Very good

The food was at a higher standard than the actual room and the rest of the interior.

The beds were somewhat uncomfortable and the hotel does not seem to be in top nick.

Our rooms were charming and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. We were made to feel very much at home and truly wished we had booked a longer visit. We will definitely return and have put Mansfield Castle on our list of favorites.

    We loved every thing.

The staff here really made the trip. The woman on reception was warm, welcoming and interested in us as guests. The young chap on the bar was really helpful and directed us to a private TV lounge and brough us drinks when we wanted to watch our own TV programme before dinner.

The hotel is old and in need of an update. I had an Executive Room which was spotless but very very clealry not Executive in any way shape or from. Frniture old, carpets old, decor old and nothing to do with being in keeping with a castle. At £130 a night it is just not worth the money. If it were not for the staff I would never go back. I notice it is up for sale so it is not likkely to get better soon.

Staff very good, food & breakfast excellent, quirkey semi-castle destination

Bedrooms could do with a makeover & new beds. But would still use again.

The whole experience was wonderful from the attentive staff, lovely large room, wonderful view and the food was great.

    Superb

A beautiful building and so romantic. We had a lovely room in the old part of the hotel and the bathroom was really big with a jacuzzi bath as well as a shower. The staff were lovely and chatty and it felt comfortable.

The only bad thing is that there was a kitchen vent outside our room and we couldnt open the windows because of the noise. . The vent was loud but when we complained it was turned off in the evening before 10 pm. Started again in the morning but it didnt matter as we were up. We were the only people eating in the diningrooom in the evening,

Friendly staff, comfortable suite, jacuzzi tub. Dinner was outstanding. Best meal I had in week long vacation in Scotland. Angus sirloin steak may have been the best steak I ever ate.

No negatives. Would have liked to learn more about the building's history.

    Superb

It was very comfortable with a nice ambience. The food was excellent. If we visit Northern Scotland again we'll stay there again.

Only four channels on the tv. Not good enough in the 21st century !

I have to say I thought my stay at the Mansfield was great as I was in the area for company business. On travelling around, I saw it had great potential for sight seeing and nature watch.Lovely location.
